Meet Tolani
Her Pattern Was Hard to See Because the Men Were Not Obviously “Bad”
Tolani was not repeatedly choosing obviously terrible men.
That was what made her pattern difficult to recognise.
Her relationships often began beautifully:
Attention
Chemistry
Prayer
Long Conversations
Hope
Then uncertainty appeared.
And instead of asking what the uncertainty meant,
Tolani usually became more patient, more supportive
and more emotionally invested.
Because she desired marriage and did not want to start again,
she kept hoping that greater patience would eventually produce
greater clarity.
Eventually, she recognised something important:
The pattern did not begin when the man became unclear.
It had started much earlier.
Attention produced attachment.
Attachment produced access.
Clarity came last.
Her new question became:
“Before I give more access, what has actually been established?”
